Portion of the crowd at the 100th birthday part of George Reeves (aka Superman), where those gathered to celebrate his birth in Woolstock on January 5, 1914. When his parents divorced at the age of two, he and his mother left Iowa and moved to Pasadena, California. In his college days, Reeves became interested in theater and boxing. Like many movie stars of the 1940s and 1950s, George’s birth name of George Kiefer Brewer was changed to ‘Reeves’. While he was best known as ‘Superman’ in the made-for-television “Adventures in Superman, he was also in the movie “Gone With The Wind”.
