Wellness Works in Wright County

The revived Wright County Wellness Coalition (WCWC) convened at Iowa Specialty Hospital on October 19 for their first official meeting since 2014. The mission of the organization is to promote greater health awareness by providing information, activities, and services designed to support healthy lifestyle choices and improve the quality of life of Wright County residents.

In 2016 Wright County was ranked 73/99 on the “Active Index,” a benchmark for the health of Iowa counties. The WCWC’s goal for 2018 is to be in the Top 5.

The WCWC Launch Event is scheduled for November 14 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hagie Manufacturing. This is FREE to the public and fun for all ages. Activities include sports stories and pep talk by Chuck Long, enter-to- win drawings, games, preregistration for the LHI 10-week wellness challenge, free snacks and beverages, and Wright County resident testimonials.
