Update: Sheriff’s Office identifies the 2 year old girl found in Galt

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 2 year old girl found in Galt early this afternoon. The child has been placed in the custody of the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Authorities believe the van involved in this incident has also been located and no further assistance from the public is needed at this time.

“We appreciate the public’s response and assistance in this incident,” said Wright County Sheriff Jason Schluttenhofer. “The calls and information provided by the public helped in identifying the girl and her family.”

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
