Supervisors welcome new emergency management coordinator and talk roadwork

After a short meeting last week due to the Fourth of July, the Wright County Board of Supervisors had a busier agenda for this week’s meeting. They started by welcoming new county Emergency Management Coordinator Jerika Eisentrager. She is originally from Eagle Grove and attended Wartburg.

County resident Ron Retleff appeared before the board to discuss some trees removed on his property. Retleff farms south of Rowan near 230th street. He recently noticed that trees on his property had been cut down. County engineers had mistakenly cut down the trees. Retleff filed a claim with the county insurance for 4 total trees. County insurance offered $1500, with max of $2000 to be paid. Retleff was not satisfied with this offer since it did not include removal and replacement of the trees. The supervisors apologized but noted that once it is in the insurance adjuster’s hand, they have no control over the matter. They encouraged Retleff to work with the adjuster and agreed he should be offered moneys for tree removal and replacement.
