State, Boyd top scoring averages, Weidemann leads rebounding

The 2018-19 edition of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows varsity boys basketball saw a final overall record of 4-18, with a 1-13 record in the North Central Conference. Clear Lake won the league with a 13-0 record, followed by Webster City at 11-3 and Algona at 9-5.

The team scored 1,032 points for an average of 46.9 points per game. They made 379 out of 1,046 field goals for 36.2 percent, 108 out of 410 three-pointers for 26.3 percent and 166 out of 268 free throws for 62.6 percent.

Christian Gaytan scored 180 points on 59 of 165 shots from the field for an average of 8.2 ppg. Mateo Martinez scored 163 points on 67 of 184 shots for an average of 9.1 ppg. Jaace Weidemann scored 147 points on 61 of 143 shots for an average of 6.7 ppg. Blake Jackson scored 115 points on 38 of 139 shots for an average of 5.2 ppg. Connor State scored 108 points on 41 of 74 shots for an average of 10.8 ppg.
