Sheriff Praises Efforts of Road Crews During Winter Emergency

This past weekend’s winter storm resulted in the Wright County Board of Supervisors declaring a State of Emergency due to the dangerous conditions caused by the blowing and drifting snow including at times zero visibility and completely blocked roadways. Wright County Sheriff Jason Schluttenhofer explained the emergency declaration made it possible for the county to get the help of state resources, such as their larger plows. Worth County in northern Iowa also declared a state of emergency due to the winter weather.

                  Wright County Emergency Management coordinated the efforts working with the Wright County Communications Center, Wright County Engineer, a local Iowa DOT Maintenance Supervisor and the Wright County Sheriff in their response to calls for assistance throughout the weekend.
