School supplies needed

Upper Des Moines Opportunity wants to make sure all students head back to school on Monday, Aug. 18, with a new backpack filled with the supplies they need to have an A+ year.  Last year, they helped in excess of 200 students, and that number is anticipated to grow even more this year.  Of course, they couldn’t have done it without the generous donations of community members and businesses.  They are hoping you will extend your graciousness again this year as the need is anticipated to be equal to or even higher than last year.

Supplies needed include Crayola crayons, colored pencils, erasers, folders, Elmer’s glue/glue sticks, Crayola markers, notebooks, #2 pencils, pencil boxes, rulers and scissors.  Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated to help fill in the gap of supplies needed.

Collection boxes for you to drop your supply donations can be found at First Citizen’s National Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, First State Bank, and Security Savings Bank in Clarion.  Eagle Grove locations include Security Savings Bank, First State Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank.  Security Savings Bank in Goldfield will also be accepting donations, as will Northwest Bank in Belmond.
