School Bicycle Project Helps Less Fortunate

Service learning has always played a vital role in the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows curriculum, said Steve Haberman, middle school principal at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows.

The current project the C-G-D seventh and eighth grade Apps class is working on targets the less fortunate.

The students have collected about 30 used bicycles and after they are fixed up, will be distributed via the local churches to those children whose family cannot afford to buy them one.

“Any chance we have to make a difference by giving back is a wonderful opportunity for our students and a valuable learning experience,” Haberman said.
