Sann 26th at State Golf

Cowboy golfer Trenton Sann finished in a tie for 26th place at the Class 2A State Golf Meet held last Friday and Saturday in Ames. His two-round scores were 81-85 for a total of 166 over the 18 holes. There were nine full teams, along with 10 other individuals, participating.

“He had a real good day of striking the ball on Friday,” said his coach Pat O’Brien. “He played well enough for about a 76, but gave away some strokes here and there. His second day didn’t start like he wanted, but he held on pretty well with birdies on two consecutive holes. Then the last part of that round he just couldn’t find par. I’m very proud of how Trenton ended his season and high school career. He established himself as one of the best golfers to ever carry a C-G-D bag. Along with his State tournament bid, he was also able to win a conference individual title last year which is something that’s never happened at this school. He plans on playing golf for the Dutch at Central College, following in the footsteps of the last qualifier we had at State Jason Harvey. I wish him well as he takes his game to the college level.”
