Reiland retires after thirty-six years as county recorder

Before the last election, he considered retiring but the right words must have been said, because Dwight Reiland was "swayed' to stay on as the county recorder.

But this time around, Reiland, of Clarion, is really leaving after working in the office for 36 years and two months.

Reiland was sworn into office November of 1978 and worked his last day on Dec. 31, 2014.

Denise Baker, former deputy recorder, is taking over the position as of today, Jan. 1, 2015.

"I have no doubt in my mind she will do a great job," Reiland said, adding how they started preparing for this awhile ago.

Read more about Reiland's time in office and what he will miss the most in the January 1 issue of The Monitor!
