Priest of Wright County's sister parish visits Iowa

Last week, Wright County’s Holy Family Cluster received a distinguished visitor: Father Laneau Nicolas, priest of the Our Lady of the Assumption church in Anse Rouge, Haiti.

The Holy Family Cluster, which is comprised of St. John’s in Clarion, Sacred Heart in Eagle Grove, and St. Francis Xavier’s in Belmond, has for five years sent members on medical missions trips to their sister parish in Anse Rouge. The partnership between the two parishes is part of the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas, where Catholic churches in the US are linked to churches in Latin America and the Caribbean for the purposes of prayer and support. Monica Staudt, an active member of the mission teams, said that the PTPA encourages visits from the priests of sister parishes, “to reinforce the bond, to welcome him and thank him for all he does for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.”
