Newest county supervisor is settling in and learning more every week, Kluss started his term in January

Dean Kluss

When Dean Kluss began his term as a Wright County Supervisor a little over a month ago, he thought he knew what to expect. Kluss had been attending as many supervisors meeting as possible in the months before his swearing in, so had witnessed firsthand what meetings entailed. However, he still admits there is more to the job than he could have imagined, and he has a lot to learn.

Kluss took over Stan Watne’s district 2 supervisor seat at the beginning of the year after winning the general election in November. Although he ran uncontested in November, he did face two other Republican challengers in the primary election in June. Kluss, who is originally from Clarion, spent 20 years in the Navy and retired as an officer in 1999. Since then, he has farmed corn and soybeans near Clarion.
