New math curriculum will help with transition

 

Despite the new math curriculum presenting some challenges, both for the teachers and students, at the beginning of the 2014-15 academic year, both getting the hang of it and thus, learning the many ways to solve math problems.

 

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Elementary School teachers explained the various components of the new curriculum, “Math Expressions,” to the C-G-D School Board at their meeting February 9.

 

"Basically there are four main components of the program," explained Mary March. "They are quick practice, utilizing student leaders, building the concepts, and something we call 'Math Talk.'"
