National Guard brings zip line to C-G-D high school

On August 31 and September 1, high school students at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows got to try zip-lining, thanks to the Iowa National Guard. Staff Sergeant Poncy, a recruiter out of Iowa Falls, reserved the zip line and worked with local schools to arrange to use it for physical education activities. Principal Dennis March gave permission, and the zip line was set up in the back parking lot at the school.

“It’s something to kick off the school year for the kids,” Poncy said.
