Mosaic's 31st annual Chilifest

With more than 300 meals served over lunch and dinner, Mosaic’s annual Chilifest had a good turnout this year. The annual event is anticipated by businesses and community members alike, with a raffle for prizes as well as tasty chili, cornbread, salads, and dessert part of the fun. Sarah Holmes, community relations manager for Mosaic, said that Chilifest serves as both an event to bring awareness to the community and also a fundraiser to help fill needs for those they serve. This year, some of those funds went to recreation opportunities at the Mosaic service center and for travel costs for Mosaic program participants.

Holmes said they’d received worried phone calls from businesses when letters announcing the event got lost this year. She was impressed with their concern. “It's strong community support like this that makes it possible to live and breathe our mission,” Holmes said. “We sincerely appreciate all of the generous donations we receive from people and are proud to live and work in such a supportive community.” Chilifest this year was held on March 15.
