Monitor editor visits second graders

First graders meet world.

Jacob Snyder, editor of The Wright County Monitor, paid a visit to Pam Simmons-Bailey's classroom last Thursday to talk a little bit about what he does and some of the basic skills necessary for a job in the newspaper industry and many others for that matter.

This visit, coordinated by Elementary School Counselor Sarah Kakacek, was done as part of the Partners With A Purpose program.

"We want to allow students to make a connection with working adults in the community," Kakacek said. "We also want to instill in students social skills on how to appropriately introduce themselves, have appropriate conversations, and good eye contact."
