The Meadows Assisted Living Week

Starting on Grandparents Day, September 13, the Meadows Assisted Living began celebrating assisted living week. The week involved activities and special food and music events, and tenants enjoyed time visiting with family and friends.

Sue Wanken, certified medical assistant in charge of activities, said the theme they’d picked for assisted living week was “mind, body, and spirit,” but they expanded that theme to the more specific “Books for the mind, hearts for the body, and crosses for the spirit.”

“We’ve kind of tried to incorporate those for activities here throughout the week,” Wanken said.

The week included family visits and a potluck on Sunday, a painting day Monday, an open house Tuesday, a ladies’ social Wednesday with visitors from the Meadows Independent Living, a mens’ coffee and a local pastor appreciation Thursday, and homemade ice cream on Friday.
