Local representatives give updates on current session, take questions at local town hall meeting

State Representative Terry Baxter and State Senator Dennis Guth appeared at three different town halls meetings that day in Eagle Grove, Clarion, and Belmond. The meetings were sponsored by Farm Bureau. Local Farm Bureau President Austin Charlson explained that since Farm Bureau is a grassroots organization, their goal is to promote grassroots connections. Representative Baxter reminded everyone that many of the bills and ideas that are talked about throughout the session don’t make it out of subcommittees. He spoke about Iowa’s 2016 shift to third-party managed care of its Medicaid program and how he sees improvements in it.
