Live Healthy Iowa event slated to be held in Clarion

Clarion has been chosen as one of fourteen communities in the state to be a host site for two Live Healthy Iowa (LHI) runs.

The 5K Run will be held Saturday, April 11, and begin at 8 a.m. The 1K Kid’s Run immediately follows it starting at 9 a.m.

According to a handout, the routes for both are located in the southwest part of town.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with these 14 communities and co-host these events,” said Nicole Bruce, director of LHI.

Proceeds from the event will benefit local wellness efforts. According to local organizers no decision has been made yet on how the proceeds will be spent. They are looking at several projects. Some of the money will also go to Adaptive Sports Iowa, an organization who provides revolutionary sports opportunities for Iowans with physical disabilities.
