Library’s Animal Heroes Week With The Blank Park Zoo

Wednesday, July 8, the Blank Park Zoo brought some animals to show the kids for the Clarion Public Library’s Animal Heroes week.

The day started with the presenter, Sam, inviting kids up to do a demonstration. A kid came up and Sam dressed him up like a plant. She talked about how plants seeds are spread throughout the wild. So children came up and played the parts of animals, the wind, and insects. They took the seeds and went and sat down showing how spread out the seeds can get.

After that Sam began to show off the animals. She started off with a Senegal parrot named Zuby. She showed the kids the tricks that Zuby could do and explained how she would use her colors to blend in if she lived in the wild. The tricks that she did were hanging upside down like a bat and then playing dead. After Zuby did the tricks Sam would give her a treat.
