Koester finishes intern experience with ISU extension

Danielle Koester, Wright County Fair Queen, had a busy month of July. You may have seen the Eagle Grove High School graduate supporting competitors at the livestock shows at the Fair or at the grandstand events. However, you probably don’t know that she also did a lot of behind-the-scenes work at the Fair as an intern for the Wright County Extension and Outreach office.

“It takes many hands to make [the Fair] happen,” said Jessica Norman, county youth coordinator with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. “Dani does a good job. She’s very thorough.”

Koester applied for the internship because of her love for 4-H, which she participated in for nine years. She’s also a previous member of the 4-H Teen council. She started at the end of May, and spent much of her time assisting Norman and helping 4-H kids with paperwork and questions about their Fair projects.

“Basically, the first half of the summer was getting ready for the Fair,” she said.
