Karl King Middle School Honor Band

Six students from the C-G-D Middle School Band were selected to perform in the 2017 Karl King Middle School Honor Band. The Karl King Honor Band Festival is for sixth and seventh grade students from schools in North-Central Iowa who excel in band.

            The Honor Band took place Saturday, January 14 in Fort Dodge. Students gathered in the morning to practice throughout the day and presented a concert late Saturday afternoon.

Students representing C-G-D, from left to right: Olyvia Olson, seventh grade flute, daughter of Kevin and Hayley Olson of Clarion; Devin Morales, seventh grade percussion, son of Tanya Morales and Noel Morales of Clarion; Clarissa Hasty, sixth grade alto saxophone, daughter of Scott and Dina Hasty of Kanawha; Payton DeCoster, sixth grade percussion, daughter of Alina and Joe Bosch and Peter DeCoster of Clarion; Daniel Chavez, seventh grade tuba, son of Miguel and Lidia Chavez of Clarion; and Joana Duran, seventh grade trumpet, daughter of Magaly Correa Dones of Clarion.
