Hatch: I will work for rural and urban Iowa

Jack Hatch cares about urban Iowa and rural Iowa. Hatch, a candidate for governor of Iowa, hails from Des Moines and for that reason is sometimes dubbed a “big city guy.”

But Hatch doesn’t see himself that way at all.

“The fact is, in Iowa, we rise and fall together,” he said during an interview October 9. “So, it’s not really an rural Iowa versus an urban Iowan because in reality, we can’t survive without each other.”

Hatch stopped by the Monitor office October 9 to talk about what makes him the right choice for governor of Iowa.
