Final Cowgirl varsity basketball stats released

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows head girls basketball coach Kevin Kakacek has now released his team’s final stats for the 2016-17 season. Along with the overall stats and the listings of where they ranked in North Central Conference games only. The team had one player land on the All-Conference Teams in recent balloting, as senior Hannah TerHark received a spot on the Third Team.

The team finished at 2-20 overall, with a 1-13 conference mark. Clear Lake was league champion at 13-1, with Algona and Humboldt tied for second at 11-3 each. The ladies scored a total of 759 points for an average of 34.5 per game. The breakdown by quarter is: First-166; Second-208; Third-169 and Fourth-216. They collectively made 297 out of 955 field goals for 31.1 percent, 42 out of 200 three-pointers for 21.0 percent and 123 out of 228 free throws for 53.9 percent.

Hannah Terhark led in scoring with 185 points on 79 of 172 shots from the field for an average of 8.4 ppg. Chloe Johnson scored 104 points on 44 of 142 shots for an average of 5.0 ppg. Megan Askelsen scored 79 points on 29 of 106 shots for an average of 4.0 ppg. Sydney Terhark scored 74 points on 24 of 89 shots for an average of 7.4 ppg. Vanessa Kolb scored 59 points on 26 of 91 shots for an average of 2.7 ppg.

Courtney Harle scored 56 points on 22 of 82 shots for an average of 3.5 ppg. Lili Swanson scored 53 points on 22 of 79 for an average of 2.7 ppg. Emily Kapka scored 36 points on 14 of 36 shots for an average of 2.0 ppg. Sid Magee scored 29 points on 11 of 46 shots for an average of 1.4 ppg. Mikayla Hennigar scored 28 points on nine of 45 shots for an average of 1.3 ppg.
