Daybreak Foods withdraws vacation request

Though a continued hearing for the requested road vacation of Buchanan Avenue between C56 and 310th Street was supposed to occur at the December 28 supervisor’s meeting, the hearing was cancelled due to Daybreak Food’s withdrawal of the vacation request. The supervisors received a formal letter of withdrawal, which was read at the meeting.

“As Daybreak Foods values the interest of our facility, our business, our stakeholders, and our community, we feel it is important to arrive at the most amicable decision,” the letter read. “Daybreak Foods is officially withdrawing our request to vacate.”

The letter continued that Daybreak Foods didn’t want to put the supervisors in a difficult position with the community, and that the company  hoped to come up with another proposal which would help their biosecurity, which they intended to bring before the board by spring of 2016.
