Cross Country team does well in three recent meets

Claire Davis 9th, Alec Norem 15th at Iowa Falls

  The Clarion-Goldfield cross country team continues to steadily improve with meet experience, and helped themselves with two more meets in the past week.

  Last Monday, September 23, they took part in the 18-team Humboldt Invitational at Sheldon Park on the west edge of Humboldt.

  The host Wildcats and Pocahontas Area tied with 70 points each in the girls team race, with Humboldt getting the title through the tiebreaker of the sixth place runners time. Also in the top five for the girls were Algona with 85, Emmetsburg with 133 and South Hamilton with 159. Clarion-Goldfield took 10th place.

  Individual finishes for the Cowgirl varsity were: Kenzie Alberts (33rd) in 18:04.76, Claire Davis (46th) in 18:23.07, Samantha Nerem (48th) in 18:26.45, Maci Konopasek (66th) in 18:54.47 and Cierra Milner (93rd) in 19:51.81.
