Cowgirls volleyball defeat Bulldogs, win three of six at Osage

Last Tuesday in Hampton, the 5th ranked (2A) Cowgirls faced the home Bulldogs of Hampton-Dumont/CAL and swept them in three straight sets by scores of 25-10, 25-11 and 25-16. Team serving was at 86.5 percent, with Alaina Friesleben going 16 of 17 (five aces). Jadyn Jondle was 12 of 16 (three), Morgan Middleton 11 of 12 (three), Nicole Waters 10 of 10 (four) and Kendall Lienemann 10 of 12 (two). Lexie Lane finished 5 of 7 (one) from the line.

Friesleben set the ball for 23 assists, with Jondle credited with two and Waters one. Middleton finished with 14 kills in the attack at the net, with Lienemann adding five, Jondle and Lane three each and Friesleben two to the total. Summer Traub also added a kill in her court time.

Jondle compiled 13 digs on defense, with Middleton adding eight and Lienemann seven. Waters came up with five saves of the ball, Emma Conlon four and Friesleben, Lane and Traub all one each. Friesleben, Lane, Middleton and Traub all had one solo block apiece on defense, with Friesleben adding a block assist.

On Saturday at Osage, the team went 3-3 and started out with a two-set win over Forest City by scores of 21-11 and 21-10. Team serving was at just over 95 percent, with Middleton 11 of 12 (one) and Friesleben 10 of 10 (one). Friesleben had 17 assists, Middleton 14 kills and Lienemann six kills. Jondle made 15 digs, while Lane, Middleton and Waters all had a solo block each.
