Cowgirls take a tough loss at Algona 61-31

After opening the season with two wins in their first three games, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls varsity lost their fourth game in the last five with a 61-31 loss at Algona.

Raven Kinnetz led the scoring column with eight points on 50 percent shooting from the field and two three-pointers. Megan Askelsen was close behind at seven points with one trey, while Kylie Greenfield had five points and Courtney Harle four points. Sid Magee contributed a bucket from long range, with Jadyn Jondle and Emily Kapka scoring two points each.

Greenfield was the busiest on the boards with five rebounds, followed by Harle, Vanessa Kolb, Jondle and Kapka all with two apiece. Magee, Kinnetz, Jackson, Quinn Hansch, Alexis McOllough, Gracey Olson and Kendall Lienemann all added one rebound each. Kolb dished up two assists, with Magee, Kinnetz, Hansch, Askelsen and Olson all adding one apiece to their stat lines. Harle was tenacious on defense in making four steals, while Magee, Jackson and Frye all coming up with two steals each. Harle and Lienemann each made a blocked shot.
