Cowgirls sixth, Cowboys ninth at Eagle Grove Invite

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows/CAL cross country team competed at the Dick Bell Invitational last Tuesday in Eagle Grove. The class A girls title went to Gilbert with 41 points, followed in the top three of nine full teams by Spencer with 48 and Humboldt with 56. The Cowgirls were sixth with 186 points.

Kenzie Alberts paced the team with a 17th place finish in 21:04.34. Finishing behind her were: Claire Davis in 24th with 21:35.31, Shelby Engh in 38th with 22:38.34, Angela Castro in 68th with 24:27.72, Kayleen Johnson in 71st with 24:49.71, Makayla Konopasek in 73rd with 25:19.54, Courtney Studer in 75th with 25:27.55, Sid Magee in 81st with 25:48.23, Myriam Carrillo in 100th with 27:36.87, Jade LaRue in 103rd with 27:42.99, Payton Reiter in 104th with 27:44.87, Evelyn Tevalan in 117th with 30:02.01, Angela Garcia in 121st with 31:36.70 and Ami Martinez in 122nd with 31:45.01.

“Both of our teams have continued to run their best times of the season,” said head coach Missy Springsteen-Haupt. “Eagle Grove was an especially difficult meet on our team scores, since we were placed in a class against much larger schools."
