Cowgirls open season with tough 9-8 win over W. Hancock

Last Monday night in Clarion, the Cowgirls opened their season with a 9-8 win over West Hancock. The home team went up 5-0 after two innings, then survived an Eagle four-run seventh to hold on. Emily Kapka, Quinn Hansch, Courtney Harle and Vanessa Kolb were all 2 for 4, with Kapka reaching on two double shots. Hansch and Harle doubled once each, with Remi Johnson going 2 of 3.

Gabby Hackley, Emma Schluttenhofer and Kendall Lienemann all hit a single each, with Emma crossing the dish twice. Megan Askelsen, Kapka, Kolb, Harle, Lienemann, Johnson and Jade Larue all scored a run each. Kapka, Hackley, Schluttenhofer, Kolb, Lienemann and Johnson all drove in a run each.
