Cowgirls lose games to Cadets, Lynx

Last Tuesday night in Iowa Falls, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls varsity basketball team dropped a close 44-37 game to Iowa Falls-Alden on the Cadets home court. The home team held a slim 19-17 halftime lead.

Courtney Harle netted 13 points with a trey, while Raven Kinnetz dropped 10 points thru the rim including a pair of three-pointers. Vanessa Kolb added nine points, Quinn Hansch four points and Emily Kapka one point. Harle got her hands on eight rebounds, with Kolb grabbing four caroms, Mariah Frye three and Maya Jackson two. Kinnetz, Hansch and Kapka all had one apiece.

“It came down to our second quarter,” stated head coach Kevin Kakacek. “We played decent defense all the way. We just couldn’t make the shots we needed. We were right where we wanted to be. We got the rebounds we needed, and limited our turnovers. Courtney had a good game. We were also aggressive after the ball. We just needed scoring help from some others.”
