Cowgirls defeated in five sets by Humboldt

It took five sets to do it, but the visiting Humboldt Wildcats finally got past Clarion-Goldfield-Dows last Thursday in an exciting volleyball match. Set scores were: W25-12, L27-25, L25-15, W25-12 and L15-13.

“We came ready to play, played as a team and were doing everything needed in order to win,” said head coach Katrina TerHark. “The first set we were blocking everything and their hitters had no answers. We took the first set with ease. Then we fought back in the second and lost a close one. The third set was not one of our better efforts of the night, but we were able to put that behind us. We came back and dominated the fourth set. I thought we were going to have enough momentum to pull through with a rally at the end, but came up short. We got stuck in one rotation and gave up too many points in a row.”
