Cowgirls compete at Belmond, Hampton

Last Friday, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls track & field team competed at the Lady Bulldog Classic in Hampton. Humboldt took the team title with 152.5 points, followed by: Osage 95, Charles City 86, Central Springs 78, Nashua-Plainfield 76, West Fork 57, Northwood-Kensett 48, Hampton-Dumont 45.5, C-G-D 35.5, Belmond-Klemme 27.5, North Butler 22 and Lake Mills 17.

The sprint medley relay took the lone first place for the Cowgirls, with Kendall Lienemann, Shelly Baumeier, Courtney Harle and Raven Kinnetz breaking the tape in 1:59.84. Vanessa Kolb substituted for Baumeier in joining the rest in the 4x4 relay. Those four combined for a 4:24.99 for third place at the end of the night. Harle was fourth in the 100, then later anchored the 4x2 to that same finish. The distance medley foursome of Brooke Askelsen, Jadyn Nelson, Ezra Heifner and Mikayla Johnson took fifth place in that event.
