Cowgirl volleyball drops a heartbreaker in five sets

In a crucial North Central Conference match for both teams, visiting Humboldt took Clarion-Goldfield-Dows to five sets before winning the decider 15-11 to take a 3-2 match win. Set scores were: W25-18, L25-22, W28-26, L25-20 and L15-11. The Cowgirls are now tied with Iowa Falls-Alden for first at 4-1, with Humboldt just a half-game behind at 3-1.

Team serving was at 89.7 percent, with Vanessa Kolb at 21 of 25 (two ace serves) and Morgan Middleton at 18 of 20 (three). Jadyn Jondle was 16 of 16 (one), Alaina Friesleben and Haley Nerem both 15 of 17 (Alaina two) and Megan Askelsen 10 of 11. Kendall Lienemann made good on a single serve.
