Cowgirl track & field finishes three-meet week

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls track & field team competed last Monday, April 27 at the Bulldog Relays hosted by Lake Mills. Osage took class A with 169 points, followed in order by: St. Ansgar 126, Cowgirls 92, Central Springs 87.5, Lake Mills 44, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 40.5 and Eagle Grove 30.

“The girls were tired from prom activities,” said head coach Monty Harker. “We’ve never been to this meet. It was a nice night, and there was good competition.”

Ana Johnson (110 hurdles) and Maddie Disney (high jump) were individual winners for the red and black. In addition, the 4x4, 4x8 and shuttle hurdle relay squads all took second place. Claire Davis (400 dash), Meleah Johnson (800), Celeste Swanson (high jump) and the sprint med relay all grabbed bronze finishes.
