Cowgirl golfers win own tournament

The inaugural Cowgirl Invitational last Saturday at Clarmond saw the home team take full advantage of their course familiarity to win the team crown with a 370 total. Following them were Humboldt at 387, Clear Lake at 431, Algona at 452 and Pocahontas Area/Laurens-Marathon at 460. Medalist was Emily Snelling of Clear Lake with a 77, followed by Mikaela Livengood at 42-38 for an 80 for runner-up honors. Cowgirl counting scores to join her were Shanee Tate (45-46 for 91), Jenalee Hinkle (51-44 for 95) and Kaylee Smith (49-55 for 104). Other cards were turned in by Hope Polzin (51-56 for 107) and Cassie Hanson (56-53 for 109).
