Cowgirl golf team qualifies for state again

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf team has built a tradition of being a consistent State Meet contender, and now they’re heading back yet again. They now advance to the meet held June 1-2 at the American Legion Course in Marshalltown after winning a Class 3A region 1 final at Pocahontas. The Cowboys came into the clubhouse with a 368 total to take first, followed by MOC Floyd Valley with 375 as both move on. Finishing behind them were Kuemper Catholic with 382 and Garner-Hayfield/Ventura with 394. After finishing undefeated in conference play, the team winds up 38-3 overall.

Cowgirl number one golfer Mikaela Livengood also qualified individually by taking third overall with rounds of 43-40 for an 83 total.
