Cowboys win two more dual meets

This past Monday night in Eagle Grove, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling team stuffed two more opponents as it marches towards a possible third straight state duals title. They easily defeated the host Eagles 72-3, then turned back the upset-minded Belmond-Klemme team 55-24.

Versus the Eagles, it was Chance Konopasek (106), Justin Portillo (113), Lucas Lienemann (132), Tanner Abbas (138), Zach Pogge (195) and Caden Hanson (220) all recording falls. Abbas had the quickest pin in just 1:38. Five other Cowboys received forfeits.Versus the Broncos, winners by fall were Justin Portillo (120), Josh Portillo (126), Calen Rosenbaum (132), Abbas, Dakota Hennigar (152), Sam Wigans (160), Ben Powers (182), Pogge and Hanson. Rosenbaum had the fastest, in just 30 seconds to stick his man, while five others finished at one minute or less.

The Cowboys wrestle this Saturday in Hampton at the North Central Conference Tournament.
