Cowboys win five duals at Battle of Waterloo

The Cowboys started their two-day stay at the Battle of Waterloo in fine fashion, taking five of their six duals for the day in their bracket.

They defeated Alburnett 40-33, with Logan Nelson (160), Ben Powers (170), Ryan Anderson (195) and Lucas Lienemann (120) all winning by fall. Justin Portillo (106) took a major decision, while brother Josh (120) on by a 10-5 margin.

They defeated conference rival Clear Lake 40-20, with Justin Portillo and Nelson scoring points by fall. Joel Haberman (138) took a 22-9 major decision, and Brandon Flurer (285) a 9-0 major win. Mason Carpenter (160) won by technical fall 16-0.
