Cowboys will participate in post-season play afer one-year absense

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows varsity was able to overcome a physical and determined Garner-Hayfield/Ventura bunch last Friday night in defeating the Cardinals 29-13.

The win locks up a third-seed spot in the district for the playoffs. The Cowboys return to the postseason after a one-year absence.

“They were quite physical, which is traditionally how they play,” said head coach Paul Hansch. “They’ve lost to some very good teams so their record is a bit deceiving. We put a lot of emotion and physical energy into this game, and it proved to be a tough contest for us.”
