Cowboys trying for another victory

Last Thursday in a home game, the Cowboy baseball team stayed in a game with West Fork for a time before falling 8-2 to the Warhawks. After West Fork went up 3-0 in the top of the first, the red & black plated two of their own in the bottom of the second to close the gap. It stayed that way until the Warhawks brought home two scores in the fourth and three in the fifth for the final margin.

Tyler Stein swung the big stick in this one, going 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI. Nate Rapp, Caleb Krueger and Nick Turner all went 2 for 3, with Krueger crossing the dish once. Carter Dietz scored the other run. Brier Boyd, Krueger, Nevan Foss and Ben Oehlert all stole a bag each. Bryce Brinkman took the loss on the bump, allowing eight earned runs with five walks and one strikeout over 4 2/3 innings. Stein also saw duty, allowing none earned with two K’s.
