Cowboys take team title at Glen Brand Invitational

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboy wrestlers own their Glen Brand Invitational Tournament for the second straight year, picking up five individual champions on their way to the team title with 310.5 points. Finishing behind them in the round-robin tournament were Charles City with 283, Wilton with 194.5, Spencer with 177, Neon All-Stars with 136 and Woodbury-Central with 78.

Claiming titles in their weight brackets were Justin Portillo (113), Josh Portillo (120), Calen Rosenbaum (132), Brady Brott (152) and Mason Carpenter (170). Justin wrestlers three matches, with two byes, and won all three by fall. Josh wrestled twice with three byes, scoring a fall and technical fall 19-3. Calen won all three of his wrestled matches by fall, with two byes. His quickest pin was in a mere 41 seconds. Brady scored two wins by fall, one by an 8-7 decision and one by forfeit along with a bye. His quickest pin took just 58 seconds. Mason won three decisions, with both a forfeit and a bye.
