Cowboys season ends at Garner district

The trip down the tournament trail ended early for the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows baseball team in a 13-9 loss at Garner to the Cardinals. The Cowboys were still within striking distance, trailing by just a 9-7 margin going into the Cael Chase works behind the plate in the district game at Garner. The incoming freshman had a base hit and RBI in the game.

bottom of the sixth. It was then that the Cardinals put together a four-run inning to pretty much put it away.

They scored all those runs on just four hits, with Tyler Stein going 2 for 3 including a double. He had one RBI and three runs scored. Reed Abbas also doubled in his only connection and drove in two runs. Cael Chase had a base hit, with Zach Martin, Tanner Abbas and Chase all credited with an RBI each. Martin and Trenton Jergenson crossed the dish twice each, with Will Weidemann and Jaace Weidemann scoring one each. Tanner used his speed to get three steals, with Stein and Jaace at one each. Bryce Brinkman showed great patience at the plate in drawing three walks, with Reed getting two free passes and Tanner, Chase and Bryce Tegtmeyer all one apiece.
