Cowboys lose wild one 45-32 in Estherville

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows varsity football team locked up in a wild offensive battle at Estherville-Lincoln Central last Friday night in the season finale for both. Both teams were desperate for a win, but it would be the home team prevailing in a 45-32 victory.

Two backs gained the bulk of the yardage for the night, as Jaace Weidemann picked up 185 yards on 18 carries with three TD’s while Nate Rapp finished his high school career with 133 yards on 24 attempts with two scores. Mateo Martinez added 43 yards, Trenton Jergenson and Sam Johnson five yards each and Carter Dietz three yards. Martinez was 1 of 1 in passing for 22 yards, with Weidemann at 1 of 2 for 11 yards and a pick. Rapp caught both passes for a 16.5-yard average per catch.
