Cowboys drop tough game at Algona 41-8

Kain Nelson scored the lone touchdown, with quarterback Shane Conlon making the two-point conversion on a keeper, as the home Algona Bulldogs were far from a congenial host in a 41-8 loss. Conlon finished 8 of 13 for 80 total yards and a 113.2 rating. Rafael Jimenez led the ground attack with 79 yards on 24 attempts, with Conlon adding 48 yards on nine carries (5.3-yard average). Nelson went 15 total yards on two attempts (7.5-yard average and Cole Lindaman added three yards to the team total.

Lindaman caught three balls for 65 total yards (21.7-yard average), with Jimenez catching two for nine yards. Martinez added three yards, Camden Hanson two yards and Cael Ahrens one yard in support. Nelson booted eight punts for a 33.6-yard average, while Lindaman returned two punts but for negative yardage. Martinez returned three kicks for an 18.7-yard average, Clinton Miller one for 37 yards and Nevan Foss one for 20 yards.

The tackle chart shows Martinez with three solo stops, while Nelson and Noah Roosa were both at two solo. Nelson also made four assists and Roosa three. Hanson had two solo tackles and one assist. Conlon, Lindaman, Nick Turner and Miller all made one solo stop apiece, with Turner at two assists and both Conlon and Lindaman at one each. Jimenez tallied five assists and Bryce Allen three, with Damien Bjorklund and Remington Hansen getting one assist each.
