Cowboys drop fourth straight 21-6 at Cresco

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows/CAL football team continues to search for their first win following a 21-6 loss to Crestwood last Friday at Cresco. Reymundo Vasquez scored the only Cowboy touchdown on a seven-yard carry. All of the game’s scoring came in the first half.

Vasquez finished with 55 total yards on 18 attempts, with Will Weidemann adding 27 yards on eight carries. Alex Machuca hade seven yards on three carries. Jaace Weidemann was nine of 15 for 132 yards. His final QB rating was 133.9. Machuca caught four passes for 88 total yards, with Avery Harrington catching two balls for 39 yards and Will two for five yards. Andy Conlon also caught a pass for no gain.

Harrington returned three kicks for a 20.0-yard average, with Machuca running back one for 16 yards. Sam Johnson booted four punts for a 26.0-yard average.

The Cowboys host New Hampton this Friday for homecoming. The Chickasaws (3-1, 2-0) are coming off a 41-20 win over Hampton-Dumont.
