Cowboys drop final game before Christmas break

In a game not completely reported on last week, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows varsity Cowgirls went on the road and were defeated by Clear Lake 54-17 on December 19. A very slow start doomed the red and black, as the Lions went up 31-4 at halftime.

"This was probably one of our better defensive games of the year, holding them under control in our man-to-man and giving us a chance to win,” said head coach Kevin Kakacek. “The only problem was we didn’t show up on the offensive side of the ball."
