Cowboys drop dual with Lynx 38-31
Five wins by fall
In a close and exciting meet between two fine teams, Webster City just got the upper hand in prevailing 38-31 over Clarion-Goldfield in North Central Conference wrestling action last Thursday. The Cowboys recorded five wins by fall over the league-leading Lynx, while Webster City had three falls, a major decision and two technical falls.
Taking their matches with pins were Justin Portillo (106), Josh Portillo (113), Calen Rosenbaum (126), Joel Haberman (132) and Taylor Lehman (138). Rosenbaum got his in the fastest time, putting his opponent’s shoulders down in 1:11. The only other win came from Mitch Gambrill (285) who scored an 8-4 decision.
