Cowboys compete at Wartburg Indoor

On Tuesday, March 8, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track & field team took part in a high school indoor meet at Wartburg College in Waverly.

In the field events, Andrew Conlon tied for 11th in the high jump with a 5’ 2” best. Riley State tied for 13th in 5’ even. Sam Urness was 12th out of 37 entries in the long jump with an 18’ effort. Cameron Jergesnson finished 34th with 15’ 8” in the same event. Ryan Watne threw the shot to a 32’ 6” best mark for 28th, while Kane Mendoza took 36th with 21’ 6.5”.

Zach Pogge churned out a 6.86 to win his heat of the 55-meter dash. He was fifth in the finals with the same time. Bryce Hamilton was third in the prelims of that event with a 7.16, but did not make the finals. Chase Harker finished 24th out of 42 in the 200 dash in 25.88. Jarrod Littlejohn was 36th in 27.47. Conlon was 31st out of 41 in the 400 dash with a 1:02.03, while Zack Leist took 40th in 1:11.59. In the 55-meter hurdle prelims, Segio Arragon took sixth out of 27 entries in 10.69. He did not make the finals.
