Cowboy track & field team sixth in home relays

Last Friday, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows track & field team hosted the Cowboy Relays on a near-perfect night. Forest City took the class A team title with 144 points, just edging past Clear Lake with 143.5 points. Following them were: Hampton-Dumont 102, Iowa Falls-Alden 85.5, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 58 and C-G-D 55. West Hancock won class B, followed in the top three by St. Edmond and Northwood-Kensett.

The team took a double win in field events, as Nate Rapp claimed gold in the discus after a 135’-even toss. Not to be outdone, Ryan Watne picked up the win in the shot with a nice 46’ 5.5” effort. The sprint medley took second place, while the shuttle hurdle and distance med both claimed third.
